How to Clear Safari History on iPhone 16 (And Cookies Too)
Clearing your Safari history is a good way to protect your privacy and free up some storage space. I clear my history every week, and it keeps Safari running fast. In this guide, I'll show you how to clear your entire history, or just specific websites.
Clear All Safari History and Cookies
This will delete all your browsing history, cookies, and cache from Safari.
- Open Settings > Safari
- Scroll down and tap "Clear History and Website Data"
- Tap "Clear History and Data" to confirm
Note: This will log you out of all websites you're signed into, but it won't delete your bookmarks.
Clear History for a Specific Time Period
If you don't want to delete all your history, you can delete history from the last hour, today, or today and yesterday.
- Open the Safari app
- Tap the book icon in the bottom right corner
- Tap the clock icon at the top of the screen
- Tap "Clear" in the bottom right corner
- Select the time period you want to clear
Clear History for a Specific Website
If you only want to delete history for one website, you can do that too.
- Open the Safari app
- Tap the book icon in the bottom right corner
- Tap the clock icon at the top of the screen
- Swipe left on the website you want to delete
- Tap "Delete"
Pro Tip
You can also use Private Browsing mode to prevent Safari from saving your history in the first place. Just tap the tabs button in Safari, then tap "Private".
