How to Clean a Microwave Inside in 5 Minutes (No Scrubbing)
Cleaning the microwave is one of my least favorite chores. It's always greasy and sticky, and it takes forever to scrub. But then I found this amazing method that cleans the microwave in 5 minutes without any scrubbing. I use it every week now, and my microwave stays spotless.
What You'll Need
- A microwave-safe bowl
- 1 cup of water
- 2 tablespoons of white vinegar
- A lemon (optional)
Step-by-Step Guide
- Pour the water and vinegar into the microwave-safe bowl.
- If you have a lemon, cut it in half and squeeze the juice into the bowl, then drop the lemon halves in.
- Put the bowl in the microwave and heat it on high for 5 minutes.
- Let it sit for 5 minutes without opening the microwave door. The steam will loosen all the grease and food particles.
- Carefully remove the bowl (it will be hot!).
- Wipe the inside of the microwave with a clean damp cloth. All the grease will come right off!
Pro Tip
To keep your microwave clean longer, cover your food with a microwave-safe cover when you heat it up. This will prevent food from splattering all over the inside.
What to Avoid
Never use abrasive cleaners or steel wool on your microwave. They can scratch the inside and damage the finish.
