How to Turn Off Keyboard Sound on iPhone 16 (2 Quick Methods)
Nothing is more annoying than typing a text in a quiet room and having everyone hear that loud click-click sound. I used to forget to turn it off all the time, and I got so many weird looks in meetings! If you have an iPhone 16, turning off the keyboard sound is super easy. In this guide, I'll show you two methods that take less than 30 seconds each.
Method 1: Use the Side Switch (Fastest)
This is the method I use every day. It's the quickest way to turn off all sounds on your iPhone, including the keyboard.
- Find the silent switch on the left side of your iPhone 16
- Flip it down so you see the orange line
- That's it! Your keyboard is now silent
Note: This will also turn off your ringtone and notification sounds. Don't forget to flip it back when you're done!
Method 2: Turn Off Keyboard Sound Permanently
If you never want to hear the keyboard sound again, you can turn it off in settings.
- Open the Settings app
- Scroll down and tap "Sounds & Haptics"
- Scroll all the way to the bottom
- Toggle off "Keyboard Clicks"
Pro Tip I Wish I Knew Earlier
You can also turn off the keyboard haptic feedback in the same menu. I find the vibration even more annoying than the sound! Just toggle off "System Haptics" right below "Keyboard Clicks".
