How to Clear Cache on iPhone 16 Without Deleting Apps
Is your iPhone 16 running slow or running out of storage for no reason? I had this exact problem last month. My phone said I had 2GB of storage left, but I couldn't download any apps. Turns out, my cache was taking up over 10GB of space! The good news is you can clear cache on iPhone 16 without deleting any of your apps or photos.
Method 1: Clear Safari Cache
Safari stores a lot of cache data to make websites load faster. Over time, this can add up to gigabytes of space.
- Open Settings and tap "Safari"
- Scroll down and tap "Clear History and Website Data"
- Tap "Clear History and Data" to confirm
Note: This will log you out of websites you're signed into, but it won't delete any bookmarks.
Method 2: Offload Unused Apps (My Favorite)
This is the best method because it deletes the app's cache but keeps all your data. When you reinstall the app later, all your information will still be there.
- Open Settings > General > iPhone Storage
- Tap on an app that's taking up a lot of space
- Tap "Offload App"
- Tap "Offload App" again to confirm
What Doesn't Work
I see a lot of people recommend restarting your iPhone to clear cache. This only clears temporary cache, not the big stuff that's taking up all your storage. Don't waste your time!
