How to Take a Screenshot on iPhone 16 (3 Easy Ways)
Taking a screenshot is one of the most basic things you can do on a phone, but it's also one of the most useful. I take at least 5 screenshots a day to save recipes, share funny texts, and remember important information. If you just got an iPhone 16, here are 3 easy ways to take a screenshot.
Method 1: The Classic Button Method
This is the method everyone knows, and it still works on iPhone 16.
- Press the Side button and the Volume Up button at the same time
- Release both buttons immediately
- You'll see a flash and hear a camera shutter sound
The screenshot will appear in the bottom left corner of your screen. Tap on it to edit or share it right away.
Method 2: AssistiveTouch (For People With Arthritis)
My grandma has arthritis and can't press two buttons at the same time. AssistiveTouch lets her take screenshots with just one tap.
- Open Settings > Accessibility > Touch > AssistiveTouch
- Toggle on AssistiveTouch
- Tap "Customize Top Level Menu"
- Add the "Screenshot" button
Method 3: Back Tap (The Coolest Method)
This is my favorite method. You can take a screenshot just by tapping the back of your iPhone twice!
- Open Settings > Accessibility > Touch
- Scroll down and tap "Back Tap"
- Tap "Double Tap"
- Select "Screenshot"
Pro Tip
After you take a screenshot, swipe left on the preview to dismiss it. It will automatically save to your Photos app, and you don't have to wait for it to disappear.
