How to Take a Screenshot on iPhone 16 (3 Easy Ways)

Taking a screenshot is one of the most basic things you can do on a phone, but it's also one of the most useful. I take at least 5 screenshots a day to save recipes, share funny texts, and remember important information. If you just got an iPhone 16, here are 3 easy ways to take a screenshot.

Method 1: The Classic Button Method

This is the method everyone knows, and it still works on iPhone 16.

  1. Press the Side button and the Volume Up button at the same time
  2. Release both buttons immediately
  3. You'll see a flash and hear a camera shutter sound

The screenshot will appear in the bottom left corner of your screen. Tap on it to edit or share it right away.

Method 2: AssistiveTouch (For People With Arthritis)

My grandma has arthritis and can't press two buttons at the same time. AssistiveTouch lets her take screenshots with just one tap.

  1. Open Settings > Accessibility > Touch > AssistiveTouch
  2. Toggle on AssistiveTouch
  3. Tap "Customize Top Level Menu"
  4. Add the "Screenshot" button

Method 3: Back Tap (The Coolest Method)

This is my favorite method. You can take a screenshot just by tapping the back of your iPhone twice!

  1. Open Settings > Accessibility > Touch
  2. Scroll down and tap "Back Tap"
  3. Tap "Double Tap"
  4. Select "Screenshot"

Pro Tip

After you take a screenshot, swipe left on the preview to dismiss it. It will automatically save to your Photos app, and you don't have to wait for it to disappear.
