How to Remove Grease Stains from Clothes (Even Old Ones)
Grease stains are the worst. I used to throw away clothes just because I couldn't get the grease stains out. But then I found this simple method that removes even old grease stains from clothes. I've saved so many shirts using this method!
What You'll Need
- Dish soap (the blue kind works best)
- Baking soda
- An old toothbrush
Step-by-Step Guide
- Lay the garment flat with the stain facing up.
- Apply a small amount of dish soap directly to the stain.
- Gently rub the dish soap into the stain with your finger.
- Let it sit for 10 minutes.
- Sprinkle baking soda over the dish soap.
- Scrub the stain gently with the old toothbrush.
- Let it sit for another 10 minutes.
- Wash the garment in the washing machine on the hottest setting that's safe for the fabric.
- Check the stain before putting the garment in the dryer. If the stain is still there, repeat the process.
For Old Grease Stains
If the grease stain is old, you may need to repeat the process a few times. But don't give up! This method has removed grease stains that were months old for me.
What to Avoid
Never put a garment with a grease stain in the dryer. The heat will set the stain and make it impossible to remove.
