How to Clean a Shower Head (And Increase Water Pressure)
If your shower head is clogged with mineral deposits, the water pressure will be low and the water will spray in all directions. I had this problem with my shower head, and I thought I was going to have to replace it. But then I found this simple method that cleans the shower head in just 30 minutes.
What You'll Need
- White vinegar
- A plastic bag
- A rubber band
Step-by-Step Guide
- Fill the plastic bag about halfway with white vinegar.
- Place the bag over the shower head so that the shower head is completely submerged in the vinegar.
- Secure the bag to the shower head with the rubber band.
- Let it sit for 30 minutes to an hour.
- Remove the bag and run the shower on hot for a few minutes to flush out any remaining mineral deposits.
For Really Clogged Shower Heads
If your shower head is really clogged, you can let it soak in vinegar overnight. You can also use a toothpick to unclog any individual nozzles that are still blocked.
Pro Tip
Clean your shower head every 3-6 months to prevent mineral deposits from building up. This will keep your water pressure strong and your shower working properly.
