How to Get Rid of Bad Smells in Shoes (Overnight)
Smelly shoes are a common problem, especially in the summer. I used to have really smelly shoes, and I tried everything to get rid of the smell. In this guide, I'll show you the best methods to get rid of bad smells in shoes overnight.
Method 1: Baking Soda (Most Effective)
This is the method I use all the time, and it works perfectly.
- Sprinkle a generous amount of baking soda into each shoe.
- Let it sit overnight.
- The next morning, shake out the baking soda.
The baking soda will absorb all the bad smells.
Method 2: Newspaper
If you don't have any baking soda, newspaper works almost as well.
- Crumple up some newspaper and stuff it into each shoe.
- Let it sit overnight.
- The next morning, take out the newspaper.
Method 3: Tea Bags
Tea bags are great for absorbing smells and adding a fresh scent.
- Put a few dry tea bags into each shoe.
- Let it sit overnight.
- The next morning, take out the tea bags.
How to Prevent Shoes From Smelling
- Wear socks with your shoes
- Alternate between pairs of shoes so they have time to air out
- Spray your shoes with a shoe deodorizer regularly
