How to Change Wallpaper on iPhone 16 (Home Screen & Lock Screen)
Changing your wallpaper is one of the easiest ways to personalize your iPhone. I change my wallpaper at least once a month, and it always makes my phone feel new again. If you just got an iPhone 16, here's how to change your home screen and lock screen wallpaper.
Method 1: Change Wallpaper from Settings
This is the traditional method, and it works for both home screen and lock screen.
- Open Settings > Wallpaper
- Tap "Add New Wallpaper"
- Choose a wallpaper from the categories: Photos, People, Weather, Astronomy, etc.
- Customize the wallpaper if you want (add widgets, change the clock font)
- Tap "Add"
- Choose whether you want it for the home screen, lock screen, or both
Method 2: Change Wallpaper Directly from Photos
This is the method I use most often. If you see a picture you like, you can set it as your wallpaper in 2 taps.
- Open the Photos app
- Find the picture you want to use as wallpaper
- Tap the share button in the bottom left corner
- Scroll down and tap "Use as Wallpaper"
- Adjust the picture and tap "Set"
Pro Tip for Dynamic Wallpapers
The new iPhone 16 has some amazing dynamic wallpapers that change throughout the day. My favorite is the Astronomy wallpaper, which shows the current position of the sun and moon.
What to Avoid
Don't use wallpapers that are too busy or have bright colors. They can make it hard to see your app icons and drain your battery faster.
